Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Optometrist position located in Nairobi County, and Kilifi, Kenya.

Responsibilities

The Optometrist will be responsible for:-

  • Performing comprehensive eye examinations,
  • Diagnosing vision-related issues,
  • Providing appropriate corrective solutions such as prescriptions for eyeglasses or contact lenses.
  • Educating patients on maintaining eye health, understanding product options.
  • Collaborating with the retail team to ensure superior service.
  • Conducting follow-up appointments and actively participating in community outreach initiatives, including mobile clinics and free consultations, are integral parts of this role.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in performing eye examinations, diagnosing visual impairments, and recommending corrective measures.
  • Knowledge of dispensing optical products, including an understanding of lenses, frames, and specialty eyewear adaptations.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for patient education and team collaboration.
  • Commitment to professional ethics, ensuring a high level of care and customer satisfaction.
  • Experience in community outreach programs such as mobile clinics or CSR-related initiatives is a plus.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Optometry or an equivalent field, with a valid practicing license recognized in Kenya.
