Responsibilities or duties

OVERALL RESPONSIBILITY:

Reporting to the Manager – Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, the successful candidate will work with patients to identify and improve their movement and function. S/he will also be expected to be an active member of the health care team in the Hospital.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Evaluation of patients to identify their needs.
  • Determination of appropriate treatment programme.
  • Execution of treatment programme using required physiotherapy modalities and techniques.
  • Meeting the patient needs in terms of rehabilitation.
  • Daily assessment of patient’s progress.
  • Monitoring patient’s relief and level of functionality.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

The requirements

  • Minimum Diploma in Physiotherapy from KMTC or any other recognized institution.
  • Bsc. in Physiotherapy or Higher Diploma in any area of specialty in Physiotherapy will be an added advantage.
  • Must be registered and licensed by the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya.
  • Working knowledge of a Hospital Management Information System.
  • Excellent Public Relation.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Experience needed

  • At least one year working experience in a busy health facility.
  • Evaluation of patients to identify their needs.
  • Determination of appropriate treatment programme.
  • Execution of treatment programme using required physiotherapy modalities and techniques.
  • Meeting the patient needs in terms of rehabilitation.
  • Daily assessment of patient’s progress.
  • Monitoring patient’s relief and level of functionality.
