Kenya Institute of Special Education (KISE) is a semi autonomous government agency of the Ministry of Education, Kenya. It was established through a Legal Notice No. 17 of 14th February 1986. The Institute is currently run by a council appointed by the Minister for Education. The Head of the Institute is the Director who is also the Secretary to the Council....

Responsibilities or duties

Screening, assessing and providing therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, electrotherapy and hydrotherapy interventions as per the patients/clients formulated treatment plan at an inpatient and outpatient unit/ward/health institution;

Carrying out physical disability assessments for categorization, registration and other support;

Verifying and maintaining information and records relating to clients/patients;

Ensuring availability of education to patients and relatives in Institute; and

Carrying out home visits and following up on clients/patients’ progress.

Qualifications or requirements (e.g., education, skills)

Registered and licensed with the Physiotherapy Council of Kenya

A member of Physiotherapists Association of Kenya

Experience needed

Two (2) years’ experience working in an orthopedic, neurological and surgical setting

Education Level

Diploma in any of the following disciplines: Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy or equivalent qualification.
