Responsibilities or duties

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on plant machinery and mechanical systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Inspect equipment regularly to identify wear, faults, or potential failures and take corrective action.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical faults in plant equipment including generators, compressors, forklifts, pumps, engines, gearboxes, and motors.
  • Dismantle, repair, and reassemble mechanical components using appropriate tools and techniques.
  • Replace worn or defective parts and ensure equipment is restored to proper working condition.
  • Troubleshoot equipment breakdowns, identify root causes, and implement effective solutions.
  • Collaborate with production and maintenance teams to resolve mechanical issues and minimize downtime.
  • Install, align, and commission new machinery and mechanical components.
  • Support plant upgrades, modifications, and equipment relocation activities.
  • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with safety procedures and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain proper use of PPE and uphold a safe working environment at all times.
  • Report recurring faults and recommend improvements to enhance equipment reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications or requirements 

Key Qualifications

  • Diploma or Certificate in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, Plant Maintenance, Industrial Mechanics, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, manuals, and schematics.
  • Good understanding of industrial safety standards and maintenance best practices.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills with the ability to work under pressure.

Experience needed

  • A minimum of 2–5 years of experience in plant maintenance or an industrial manufacturing environment.
