The Power Plant Electrician is tasked with maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical systems and equipment within the power plant to ensure safe and efficient plant operations. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Performing electrical installations, maintenance, and repairs on power generation systems and related equipment.
  • Inspecting, troubleshooting, and diagnosing malfunctions in electrical circuits, wiring, systems, and equipment in the power plant.
  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing complex electrical equipment such as transformers, generators, control panels, and distribution systems.
  • Ensuring adherence to electrical codes, regulations, and safety protocols during all operations.
  • Conducting regular inspections and preventive maintenance to prevent equipment failure.
  • Reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams related to power systems.
  • Documenting work, including maintenance activities, repairs, and technical data in compliance with standard operating procedures.
  • Collaborating with supervisors and other maintenance personnel to manage priorities and ensure uninterrupted power plant operations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

  • Successfully completed a three-year apprenticeship program in electrical trades or power systems.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of documented practical experience in electrical trades, specifically in power plant or related industrial environments.
  • Strong knowledge of power plant systems, electrical components, and related safety standards.
  • Proficiency in using electrical tools, meters, and diagnostic equipment to perform repairs and testing.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must be in possession of a valid passport and be able to travel internationally.
  • Passport must be valid for a minimum of one (1) year or more at the time of hiring.
  • Must successfully pass contract medical requirements and maintain requirements for the duration of deployment.
