JOB DETAILS:
Background
The Kenya Institute of Curriculum Development (KICD) was established by the Government of Kenya on the 14th of January 2013 under an Act of Parliament-Act No.4 of 2013, to provide research based curricula and curriculum support materials responsive to the needs of the society.
Duties and Responsibilities
Coordinating, organizing and prioritizing office activities and operations to enhance efficiency and compliance;
Managing agendas, travel arrangements and appointments;
Tracking and managing stocks of office supplies and place orders when necessary, from the System;
Coordinating the preparation and implementation of the annual departmental work plans, budget and procurement plan;
Supervising administrative staff and assign responsibilities to ensure performance;
Preparation of agendas, travel arrangements and appointments;
Tracking of incoming and outgoing mails and follow-up on actions taken;
Planning and managing Meetings with internal and external customers;
Scheduling and updating the Office diary;
Maintaining proper Filing System for all office records;
Contributing to the integrity of all internal information systems as required, by maintaining data through timely updates and revision of information where required.
Qualifications and Requirements
Requirement for Appointment
Cumulative service period of nine (9) years’ relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been at the grade of Senior Office Administrator Officer KICD Grade 6 or comparable position;
Bachelor’s Degree in any of the following fields: - Secretarial Studies or in Business and Office Management or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution; OR
Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences plus a Diploma in Secretarial Studies from the Kenya National Examinations Council (KNEC) or equivalent qualification form a recognized institution;
Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized Institution;
Shown merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results; and
Proficiency in computer applications

Level of Education: bachelor degree
