Job Descriptions
Job Descriptions at this level will entail:
- Monitoring the implementation of supply chain management policies, guidelines, and procedures
- Carrying out internal monitoring and evaluation of stores usage
- Assessing the performance of suppliers and contractors
- Managing inventory and stock control
- Preparing Board of Survey meetings for disposal of stores
- Opening, evaluating, and recommending the awarding of tenders
- Following up on payment of suppliers of goods and services
- Coordinating disposal of stores and equipment
- Conducting procurement market research
Job Specifications
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have:
- A cumulative service period of nine (9) years of relevant work experience, three (3) of which must have been in the grade of Senior Supply Chain Management Officer or an equivalent position
- A Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines:
- Supply Chain Management and Logistics
- Purchasing and Supplies Management
- Procurement and Supplies Management
- Procurement
- Commerce (Supplies Management option)
- Business Administration (Supplies Management option)
- Or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution
- A Management Course lasting not less than four (4) weeks from a recognized institution
- Membership of the Kenya Institute of Supply Management (KISM) and in good standing
- Proficiency in computer applications
- Demonstrated merit and ability as reflected in work performance and results

Successful candidates MUST satisfy the requirements of Leadership and Integrity set out in Chapter Six (6) of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010 and shall be required to present the following documents before the offer letter.
- Tax Compliance Certificate from Kenya Revenue Authority (TCC);
- Certificate of clearance from Higher Education Loans Board (HELB);
- Certificate of good conduct from the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI);
- Dully filled and stamped Self-Declaration/Clearance from the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC); and
- Clearance certificate from approved Credit Reference Bureau (CRB).
