Role Overview

We are seeking an astute and results-driven Procurement Specialist to oversee all purchasing and logistics activities across our network. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the cost-efficient, timely, and high-quality procurement of goods and services, aligning with our strategic goals and ethical standards. This role is pivotal in managing supplier relationships, optimizing costs, and providing strong leadership to the supply chain team.

Key Accountabilities

  • Procurement Strategy & Compliance: Define and implement procurement policies in line with group strategy. Ensure full compliance with statutory regulations and internal company policies.
  • Vendor & Systems Management: Implement effective reporting systems, maintain a comprehensive supplier database, and manage the end-to-end process of vendor identification, negotiation, and selection.
  • Cost Management & Optimization: Coordinate procurement across all Parapet subsidiaries to achieve significant savings in direct material costs. Manage the group's external spend and drive continuous cost-reduction initiatives.
  • Purchasing Execution: Oversee the group purchasing function. Collaborate with department heads to ensure consistent on-time delivery of goods and services that meet specified quality standards.
  • Supplier Relationship Management (SRM): Negotiate and establish supplier contracts. Manage the approved vendor portfolio, leverage group volumes for optimal value, and serve as the unified interface for key suppliers.
  • Budgetary Oversight: Provide accurate budgetary information and KPIs to business units to ensure operational costs are accurately reflected in client quotations and financial planning.
  • Quality Assurance: Define procurement objectives and oversee quality control for all materials and services. Assume full ownership of inventory and stock control management across all subsidiaries and project sites.
  • Project & Departmental Coordination: Plan, execute, and finalize procurement projects within defined deadlines and budgets. Coordinate effectively with internal stakeholders and team members.
  • Team Leadership: Provide effective leadership to the supply chain team. Foster a cohesive work environment, clarify roles, and coordinate activities to ensure the department fulfills its mission efficiently.

Qualifications & Requirements

Educational Background:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Purchasing & Supplies Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field from a recognized institution.
  • A Master’s degree in Procurement & Logistics or an MBA in Strategic Management will be a strong added advantage.

Professional Experience:

  • Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in procurement and supply chain management, with at least 3 years in a senior or supervisory role.
  • Proven and demonstrable track record of achievement in previous procurement roles, showcasing cost savings and process improvements.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong inventory management and cost-control capabilities.
  • High proficiency in ERP systems for inventory and procurement control.
  • Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Outstanding organizational and strategic planning abilities.
  • High standards of personal integrity, ethics, and professionalism.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with diverse, cross-functional teams across multiple countries.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of international procurement, shipping, and customs processes.
  • Prior exposure to multi-country procurement operations is highly desirable.
