JOB DETAILS:

We are looking to hire a Production Manager to join our Material Recovery Facility (MRF) Team.
Purpose of the Role:
The Production Manager will lead and oversee the operations of the Material Recovery Facility, ensuring optimal waste processing efficiency, high-quality output, safety compliance, and strong team performance. The role involves supervising plant supervisors and team leaders, managing equipment and maintenance schedules, enforcing HSE standards, and driving continuous operational improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Lead and coordinate all MRF activities including collection reception, sorting, baling, storage, and dispatch.
2. Supervise and develop facility supervisors, team leaders, and support staff.
3. Ensure adherence to health, safety, and environmental regulations.
4. Oversee preventive maintenance and efficient use of plant equipment.
5. Manage material flow, inventory accuracy, and dispatch operations.
6. Track plant KPIs and drive continuous performance improvement.
7. Prepare and submit operational and financial reports.
8. Liaise with procurement, logistics, and other departments to ensure smooth plant operations.
Reporting to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Supervises: MRF Supervisors, Team Leaders, and Plant Staff
Qualifications:
• KCSE Mean Grade B (plain) and above is a must.
• Degree in Mechanical, Plant Operations, or Industrial Engineering, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in plant management, manufacturing, or production environments.
• At least 2 years in a senior supervisory or management role.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of waste management, OEE, and health & safety regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and production management systems.
