Responsibilities
The Programme Manager - WASH will be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of IsraAID's WASH programs in Kenya. Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and managing WASH project strategies and work plans.
- Ensuring timely and quality delivery of WASH interventions, including water supply, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion activities.
- Managing project budgets and ensuring financial accountability.
- Leading and supervising a team of WASH officers and community mobilizers.
- Building and maintaining strong relationships with local communities, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
- Monitoring and evaluating program progress, impact, and lessons learned.
- Preparing regular reports for donors and IsraAID management.
- Ensuring adherence to IsraAID's policies and procedures, as well as international WASH standards.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A Bachelor's degree in Water and Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
- Proven experience in managing WASH programs in humanitarian or development contexts.
- Strong understanding of WASH principles, standards, and best practices.
- Excellent project management, leadership, and team management skills.
- Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging environment.
- Fluency in English and Swahili is required.
Experience
A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in WASH program management.
