Responsibilities

The Programme Manager - WASH will be responsible for the overall planning, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of IsraAID's WASH programs in Kenya. Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing and managing WASH project strategies and work plans.
  • Ensuring timely and quality delivery of WASH interventions, including water supply, sanitation facilities, and hygiene promotion activities.
  • Managing project budgets and ensuring financial accountability.
  • Leading and supervising a team of WASH officers and community mobilizers.
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with local communities, government authorities, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitoring and evaluating program progress, impact, and lessons learned.
  • Preparing regular reports for donors and IsraAID management.
  • Ensuring adherence to IsraAID's policies and procedures, as well as international WASH standards.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Water and Environmental Engineering, Public Health, Development Studies, or a related field. A Master's degree is an added advantage.
  • Proven experience in managing WASH programs in humanitarian or development contexts.
  • Strong understanding of WASH principles, standards, and best practices.
  • Excellent project management, leadership, and team management skills.
  • Proficiency in budget management and financial reporting.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a challenging environment.
  • Fluency in English and Swahili is required.

Experience

A minimum of 5 years of relevant professional experience in WASH program management.
