Key Responsibilities:
Quality Project implementation
- Plan for the implementation of activities including interpretation of budget, preparing procurement plans, engaged in the procurement process and following the donor and WVK financial accounting policy/requirement.
- Ensure project implementation is aligned with the project’s goals and objectives and is within the stipulated timeframe and targets.
- Conduct regular field visits, provide supportive supervision, mentorship, monitor project activities and provide technical support in accordance with the project implementation guidelines & National TB guidelines.
- Support the implementation of TB prevention, case detection and treatment programs in alignment with Global Fund guidelines.
- Capacity Building of Community Health Promoters, TB champions and other volunteers to strengthen local capacity for TB management and community sensitization.
- Support Health facilities to identify TB champions.
- Support development, implementation and monitoring of the work plans and ensure that the budget is adhered to and that budgets are utilized effectively
- Ensure both financial and program reports are sent to the donor as per agreed timelines
- Advocate for and promote gender-responsive, people-centered approaches.
Project Coordination
- Coordinate with the county and sub county teams, health facilities local authorities and community health promoters to ensure effective TB service delivery.
- Coordinate and work with the AMREF Regional Managers, County Coordinators and MOH to ensure efficiency and effective implementation of the project
- Coordinate schedules and administrative support for the project together with the cluster manager
- Ensure timely response to donor (Principal recipient) queries and communication on GF TB project implementation
- Coordinate every step of implementation with the county health management teams (CHMTs)
- Coordinate with the Program Officer at the NO to ensure quality communication, reporting and engagement with county and PR
- Consult as deemed necessary with Cluster Manager and Program officer on queries and communication to the donor
- Coordinate county and sub county supervision visits and reviewing of project implementation
- Coordinate project internal data quality assurance and ensure high rating
- Coordinate with County and Sub County health records and information officers for quality reporting
Stakeholder Engagement, Networking and Collaboration
- Establish and maintain strong working relationships with local government agencies, healthcare partners and other civil society organizations that are implementing TB interventions for synergy and achievement of bigger impact and sustainability.
- Engage with the Ministry of Health County and Sub County teams to ensure successful implementation and enhance bacterial Suppression amongst PLTB including sharing of work plans and progress reports.
- Collaborate with SCTLC and facility teams to ensure accurate documentation, timely reporting for weekly monthly and quarterly datasets.
- Engage with key populations, including working men, children under 5 years, adolescent girls and boys, women caregivers, people residing in informal settlements, and contacts of children with confirmed TB.
- Community engagement to ensure community awareness on TB and up take of TB prevention and treatment services amongst all age cohorts.
- Facilitate community members to identify issues related to TB and support community advocacy to enable the relevant stakeholders to take appropriate action towards the attainment of better health and protection status among PLTB.
- Represent WVK in county TB working groups and other stakeholder Forums to ensure representation for the GF TB project agenda.
Project Monitoring & Evaluation
- Utilize Global Fund TB Project, National and County M&E tools and follow-on set targets and timelines of reporting and documentation.
- Conduct routine data collection and ensure reporting meets the standards required by the Global Fund, AMREF Health Africa, the government of Kenya and WVK.
- Participate in the project assessments, designs, and monthly planning and review meetings.
- Prepare and submit timely and quality weekly, monthly, quarterly, annual and other relevant reports as per the requirements of Global Fund TB Project
- Ensure timely monitoring of project and notification to donors and management of any significant changes through regular communication
- Review and build capacity of Community Health Volunteers to ensure quality reporting
- Ensure adequate and quality record/document filing as per standard operating procedures
- Lead efforts in undertaking project partners routine quarterly/semi-annual reflection and learning events for subsequent project improvement
- Document best practices, lessons learned, and success stories to inform future projects and policies.
KNOWLEDGE/QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE ROLE
Required Professional Experience
- Minimum 3 years of working experience in Global Fund programs, preferably with a focus on community health systems strengthening.
- Global Fund programming experience is a MUST.
- Strong experience working with community-based organizations and vulnerable populations.
- Experience working with community health programs and primary healthcare facilities.
- Computer proficiency in use of MS Office ((Excel, MS Word, PowerPoint etc)
Required Education/Training/Certification
- Degree in Health-related Sciences E.g., Nursing, Clinical Medicine, Public Health, Environmental health etc. , or an equivalent from a recognized institution.
- Any other relevant bachelor’s degree will be considered with relevant Global Fund Experience.
- Registration with relevant body
Preferred Knowledge and Qualifications

- Demonstrable ability to work with minimum supervision.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and mobilize communities and stakeholders.
- The holder of this position must be a result orientated who can handle a heavy work load as well as manage and satisfy multiple and at times conflicting organizational, donor and other stakeholder demands.
- Demonstrated training, facilitation, mobilization and coordination skills at both community and organization level.
