The Receptionist is the face of the establishment and the first point of contact for all guests. This role is responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and efficient welcome, managing reservations, and facilitating a seamless check-in and check-out experience. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication skills and a genuine passion for service.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Guest Check-In/Check-Out:
    • Greet guests warmly upon arrival and bid farewell upon departure.
    • Process guest registrations, assign rooms, and issue keys/access cards.
    • Verify guest payment methods, process payments, and ensure accurate billing.
    • Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for early arrivals.
  • Reservations & Switchboard:
    • Manage room reservations via phone, email, and online booking platforms.
    • Answer and direct phone calls promptly and professionally.
    • Provide information regarding hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
  • Administrative & Cash Handling:
    • Maintain accurate guest accounts, post charges, and reconcile cash floats.
    • Prepare daily reports, guest lists, and shift summaries.
    • Manage guest mail, messages, and parcel deliveries.
  • Problem Solving:
    • Address and resolve guest complaints or requests quickly and efficiently.
    • Escalate unresolved issues to the Front Office Manager or Duty Manager.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Education: High School Diploma required; Certification in Hospitality is a plus.
  • Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role (front desk, retail, or hospitality).
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and booking software (e.g., Opera, RoomMaster).
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
    • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Other: Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts (morning, evening, overnight).
