The Receptionist is the face of the establishment and the first point of contact for all guests. This role is responsible for delivering a warm, professional, and efficient welcome, managing reservations, and facilitating a seamless check-in and check-out experience. The ideal candidate possesses exceptional communication skills and a genuine passion for service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Guest Check-In/Check-Out:
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and bid farewell upon departure.
- Process guest registrations, assign rooms, and issue keys/access cards.
- Verify guest payment methods, process payments, and ensure accurate billing.
- Coordinate with Housekeeping to ensure rooms are ready for early arrivals.
- Reservations & Switchboard:
- Manage room reservations via phone, email, and online booking platforms.
- Answer and direct phone calls promptly and professionally.
- Provide information regarding hotel amenities, services, and local attractions.
- Administrative & Cash Handling:
- Maintain accurate guest accounts, post charges, and reconcile cash floats.
- Prepare daily reports, guest lists, and shift summaries.
- Manage guest mail, messages, and parcel deliveries.
- Problem Solving:
- Address and resolve guest complaints or requests quickly and efficiently.
- Escalate unresolved issues to the Front Office Manager or Duty Manager.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Education: High School Diploma required; Certification in Hospitality is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a customer-facing role (front desk, retail, or hospitality).
- Skills:
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and booking software (e.g., Opera, RoomMaster).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Professional appearance and demeanor.
- Other: Must be available to work weekends, holidays, and rotating shifts (morning, evening, overnight).
