Job Overview:
T&T Industries Corporation, a chemical supplier from Taiwan specializing in dyes, are seeking a highly experienced and capable individual to serve as the Regional Director in Kenya. This role position requires both technical expertise in dyestuff operations and strong business acumen to lead our local operations. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day activities of a new dyestuff mixing facility, overseeing the formulation of dyestuff powders to meet customer requirements, while also leading business development, customer relations, and operational strategies to grow the business in the country.
Key Responsibilities:
Production and Technical Management
- Oversee and operate the pan mixer for dyestuff powder, ensuring accurate adherence to customer-specific recipes and quality standards.
- Conduct quality control checks to ensure color consistency and product quality align with specifications.
- Adjust formulations and troubleshoot mixing processes as needed for optimal results.
- Maintain records of production batches, inventory, and quality control results, ensuring accurate reporting and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment by adhering to safety protocols, handling materials safely, and properly managing waste disposal.
- Troubleshoot operational issues and collaborate with the Headquarters on any technical or process-related improvements.
Business and Operations Management
- Serve as the primary representative for T&T Industries Corp. in the country, building relationships with key distributors, agents and other partners.
- Collaborate with customers, answer their questions, and solve their problems.
- Develop and execute a strategic plan to establish and expand the company's footprint in the local market, identifying and pursuing growth opportunities.
- Oversee financial operations, budgeting, and P&L management for the local subsidiary.
- Lead local hiring and personnel management, creating a cohesive team to support production and business activities.
- Ensure compliance with local regulations and industry standards, particularly in safety and environmental practices.
- Collaborate with the HQ team to ensure business activities align with growth targets and company strategies.
- Report regularly to Headquarters, providing insights on market trends, competitor activities, and performance metrics.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Minimum of 7 years of technical experience in a dye house laboratory or dyestuff production setting.
- Prior experience in a managerial or leadership role, with strong skills in business development and team management.
- Excellent knowledge of dyestuff handling, formulation, color matching, and safety protocols.
- Strategic and financial acumen to drive business growth and manage budgets.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with customers, team members, and corporate leadership.
- Written and spoken English communication skills; proficiency in other regional languages is an advantage.
Preferred Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree chemical engineering or related field.
- Knowledge of powder handling equipment and basic mechanical troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in quality control tools and testing procedures specific to dyestuff manufacturing.
