Purpose:
The main purpose of the job is to ensure timely delivery of monthly reports to support the reporting function, regulatory and statutory compliance.
Role Description
This is a full-time on-site position based in Nairobi County, Kenya. The Reporting Accountant will be responsible for preparing detailed Company's management accounts for reporting to stakeholders in compliance with IFRS standards, tracking expenses and preparing monthly expenses reports, ensuring compliance with IRA by filing monthly and quarterly reports, maintenance of fixed assets register accounting for depreciation monthly, reconciliation of reinsurance balances between Finance and Reinsurance team, monthly reconciliation and analysis of assigned general ledger accounts, ensuring intercompany accounts are reconciled and signed off quarterly, maintaining lease records: notifying management when expiry is due for timely renewal. Daily tasks include consolidating financial data, performing financial analysis, supporting audits, and assisting in decision-making processes by providing actionable financial insights.
Qualification & Experience
- Strong expertise in Financial Statements and Financial Reporting.
- Advanced Analytical Skills to interpret and manage financial data.
- Good understanding of IFRS 17 reporting standards.
- Sound knowledge in Finance and experience in Consolidation practices.
- Attention to detail, organizational competencies, and ability to meet deadlines.
- A degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field is required. CPA, ACCA, or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in accounting software.
- Knowledge of AKI and IRA regulations in Kenya.
- Prior experience in insurance or financial services is an advantage.
