About
• Hotpoint Appliances Ltd was established in 1984. Its first store was located in the Sarit Centre shopping mall in Nairobi. In late 1990s Hotpoint was awarded the Sole Distributorship Agency for LG Electronics. Later on, it went on to acquire agencies for other global brands including Ariston, Westpoint and Kenwood
• The role is responsible for preparing financial reports and maintaining records on the company’s retail and online business performance to facilitate effective decision making within the department (Retail and Online).The role aims to provide timely, accurate and complete data on retail performance.

• The role entails ensuring a robust controls environment and working closely with the Retail, Online, Sales, Marketing, IT and Supply chain teams to provide relevant reports and analysis.

Accountabilities:
• Daily banking reconciliation before being submitted to the finance department. This will entail the following:
• Cash reconciliation
• Visa receipts reconciliation
• M-pesa reconciliation
• All credit modes of payment
• Gift voucher reconciliation
• Spot checks for
• Petty cash
• Gift vouchers
• Floats
• Cash held in tills
• Non-stock item codes and corresponding stock adjustment
• Inventory
• Prices charged – profit margins
• Settlement of different credit modes of payment
• Retail inventory ageing report
• Review of consignment report
• Online account reconciliation
• Reconcile the account
• Credit notes follow up
• Payments posted
• Matching of account is done regularly

Other behaviors critical for the role
• Ability to communicate complex financial information in a simple, layman’s language.
• Ability to meet strict reporting deadlines and working under minimal supervision.
• Ability to plan, organize and execute.

Qualification
• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics from an accredited University.
• Membership of a recognized professional accountancy body (e.g. CFA, CPA or ACCA).
• Minimum 4 years’ progressive financial reporting, planning and analysis experience.
• Must have served at least 2 years in an Accountant position, preferably in retail business.
• Experience in working with analytics tools such as BI, Qlik, Business Warehouse e.t.c
