Premier Hospital is seeking a committed and highly vigilant Security Co-ordinator to ensure the safety, protection, and effective security operations of the facility. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding staff, patients, visitors and hospital property, while upholding the highest standards of security management.
a) JOB PURPOSE
Reporting to the Operations Manager the Security Co-ordinator will be responsible for
Formulating and implementing security policies and processes that ensure the safety of staff, patients, and all individuals accessing the facility.
Safeguarding hospital property from damage, loss, or security risk through effective prevention, monitoring, and response mechanisms.
b) MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Security & Safety of the Facility
Formulate and implement security policies and procedures across the hospital.
Monitor and ensure the safety of staff, patients, visitors, and property.
Ensure timely closure of all reported security incidents with clear mitigation plans.
Implement fire safety plans and ensure compliance.
Staff Management
Ensure proper deployment and rotation of guards.
Oversee induction, orientation, grooming, and conduct of all security personnel.
Motivate and support guards to ensure effective service delivery.
Submit accurate monthly guard attendance lists to Finance for payroll processing.
Policy Implementation & SOP Development
Develop and implement relevant security policies, SOPs, and guidelines.
Cascade policies to all staff and ensure compliance.
Regularly review policies and purpose improvements.
Security Surveillance Reporting
Prepare and submit daily security reports to supervisors and senior management.
Receive and review daily/nightly coverage reports to support decision-making.
Access Control Management
Ensure full implementation of the hospital’s access control policy.
Oversee registration and monitoring of all visitors entering the premises.
Manage parking access and traffic flow.
CCTV Management
Oversee all CCTV operations within the facility.
Train and guide control room operators on effective CCTV monitoring.
Supervise installation, servicing, and maintenance of CCTV equipment.
Handle administrative roles related to video surveillance.
Relationship Management
Maintain positive relationships with staff, patients, visitors, and outsourced teams.
Handle feedback and address security-related concerns promptly.
c) MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS/ QUALIFICATIONS
Degree in Security Management, Criminology, or related field
2 years’ experience in security coordination or supervision.
Experience in a hospital or high-risk environment is an added advantage.
Knowledge of CCTV operations, access control systems, and emergency response.

Strong leadership skills, integrity, and sound judgment
Excellent communication, reporting, and incident-handling skills.
Excellent customer service skills.
High level of risk awareness
Observation skills
Good interpersonal skills and a team player.
