Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Security Operations & Manpower Management
- Plan and coordinate security manpower deployment to ensure adequate coverage and compliance with client requirements.
- Prepare duty rosters, manage shifts and coordinate officer replacements and redeployments.
- Monitor attendance, absenteeism, lateness, leave and overtime, taking corrective action where necessary.
- Conduct site inspections, roll calls and manpower audits to ensure officer alertness, discipline, grooming and performance.
- Ensure security officers are properly deployed, briefed and compliant with operational procedures.
Team & Performance Management
- Supervise and motivate security officers to maintain high standards of discipline and performance.
- Conduct briefings and on-the-job training.
- Support recruitment, onboarding, induction, performance management and disciplinary processes.
Client & Incident Management
- Maintain effective relationships with clients, site management and company leadership.
- Manage security incidents, emergencies and operational challenges through timely response, escalation and reporting.
- Identify risks and recommend measures to improve security service delivery.
Reporting & Compliance
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly operational reports.
- Maintain accurate security records, including Occurrence Books, deployment registers, duty rosters, incident reports and equipment records.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, client requirements and applicable security standards.
- Monitor proper use and accountability of security equipment and resources.
Qualifications & Experience
Applicants should possess:
- KCSE certificate with a minimum grade of C- (Minus) or equivalent. A higher qualification will be an added advantage.
- Valid PSRA-approved security training certificate
- Minimum three (3) years’ experience in security operations, including at least two (2) year in a supervisory role. Experience managing security teams in commercial, corporate, retail, industrial, residential or similar environments.
- Knowledge of manpower planning, rostering, access control, incident management and emergency response.
- Strong communication, report-writing, leadership and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to operational challenges.
- Flexibility to work shifts, weekends and public holidays as required.
