Duties and responsibilities
Duties and responsibilities entail: -
- Preparing media supplements, press releases, documentaries and articles;
- Disseminating public awareness materials;
- Implementing public communications and relations, strategies, programs and activities;
- Carrying out public awareness programmes;
- Organizing council’s planned events and functions;
- Manning information desk services at publicity events and outreach forums;
Requirements for appointment
For appointment to this grade, an officer must have: -
- Cumulative service period of six (6) years’ three (3) of which must be at the Communication Officer I or in a comparable position;
- Bachelor’s degree in any of the following disciplines: - Mass Communications; Journalism; Public Relations; Public Relations and Marketing or its equivalent qualification from a recognized institution;
- Membership of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) or any other relevant professional body; and
- Proficiency in Computer Applications.
