Role Context

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Medical Officer specializing in General Surgery to join our esteemed medical team. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing comprehensive surgical care to patients, contributing to the hospital's reputation for excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat surgical conditions.
  • Perform a wide range of surgical procedures.
  • Manage pre-operative and post-operative care of patients.
  • Consult with other medical professionals to ensure comprehensive patient management.
  • Participate in on-call duties and emergency surgical care.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
  • Contribute to the training and mentorship of junior medical staff.

Qualifications and Requirements

  • MBChB or equivalent medical degree from a recognized institution.
  • Master of Medicine (M.Med) in General Surgery or equivalent postgraduate qualification.
  • Valid registration and current practicing license from the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council (KMPDC).
  • Minimum of 5 years of post-graduate experience in General Surgery.
  • Proven experience in performing a variety of surgical procedures.
  • Excellent diagnostic and surgical skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
