Overall Responsibility:
The role has the responsibility of executing radio network plans and dimensions according to commercial/business requirements and the rollout plan & license obligations. You shall provide input for the design of new technologies and services in accordance with Poa’s business strategy. End-to-end capacity planning will be key while also doing efficient plans for new network areas and expanding coverage to uncovered areas where we serve.
Role Responsibilities:
- Plan, design, and survey high sites for tower installations in line with commercial team guidance, ensuring up to 70% sector utilization, and prepare all required rollout documentation.
- Coordinate post-installation reviews through coverage tests and reports, optimizing DP and sector capacity to maintain above 60% utilization for higher ROI.
- Enforce change management processes for upgrades, maintenance, and emergency work, and generate post-change reports.
- Maintain and update coverage maps, identify coverage gaps, and organize quarterly training for end users on efficient map usage.
- Generate reports on radio network performance that follow incident and problem management guidelines to ensure the customer gets reliable service at 99% availability and QoS for the radio network.
- Track, report, and improve radio network performance to achieve 99%+ service availability, resolve recurring incidents while providing long-term solutions, test and recommend new technologies to reach 99.9% uptime.
- Review and address failed survey reports to keep the failure rate below 12% per network area, ensuring a minimum 2Mbps download speed per user.
- Conduct quarterly data-driven BoM planning for existing and future networks, working with commercial teams to ensure materials are provisioned in advance.
- Guide and train a team of radio engineers and technicians, acting as the escalation point for technical support and taking ownership of complex tasks.
Academic Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in Telecommunications or related field.
Key Competencies required for the role:
- At least 5 years’ experience in Radio Network planning & optimization with strong expertise in RF design, propagation behavior, model tuning, and RF network planning, optimization, and performance.
- Skilled in coverage, quality, and capacity analysis with advanced troubleshooting, turning complex data into actionable insights.
- Extensive experience managing wireless broadband networks and using network management tools (UBNT UISP/AirLink).
- Excellent understanding of WISP KPI/KQI definitions and calculation methods.
- Proficient in wireless installation & commissioning standards, telecom regulations, and GIS systems/tools.
- Excellent communication skills, analytical thinking, problem-solving, and continuous learning mindset.
- Strong team engagement, third-party supervisory skills, and a proactive “can-do” attitude.
- Willingness to travel nationwide on short notice.
