Role Purpose:
To oversee and manage the organization’s risk management framework, policies, and processes. The role involves identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks to ensure the company operates within acceptable risk tolerances and complies with regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive risk management framework and policies.
- Identify and assess risks across underwriting, claims, investments, operations, and compliance.
- Conduct risk assessments, monitor key risk indicators, and analyze emerging risks.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to promote a risk-aware culture.
- Prepare risk reports and presentations for senior management and the board.
- Ensure compliance with laws, regulations, and internal policies.
- Foster an ethical corporate culture and support organizational development initiatives.
Key Skills and Competencies:
- In-depth knowledge of risk management principles and frameworks in insurance.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strategic mindset and excellent communication abilities.
- Leadership skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
Academic & Professional Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in risk management, business administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications in risk management.
Relevant Experience:
- 7 years of experience in risk management, including at least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in insurance, banking, or financial services.
- Proven track record in developing and implementing risk management strategies.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical tools.
