Duties and responsibilities at this level will entail: -

  • Providing leadership in the planning, organization, and coordination of all security operations at the Institute.
  • Developing and implementing institutional security policies, procedures, and strategies in line with national laws and best practices.
  • Liaising with police and other relevant security agencies on matters related to campus security, investigations, and court cases.
  • Ensuring the safety and protection of the Institute’s property, staff, students, and visitors.
  • Monitoring and assessing security risks and recommend appropriate preventive and corrective actions.
  • Overseeing the deployment and performance of security personnel across all Institute facilities.
  • Supervising security staff and ensuring discipline, efficiency, and professionalism in service delivery.
  • Maintaining quality assurance and safety standards across all security functions.
  • Preparing and submitting regular reports on security incidents, trends, and mitigation measures.
  • Coordinating emergency response procedures and security drills.

For appointment to this grade a candidate must:

  • Have at least six (6) years relevant work experience
  • Be a holder of a degree in Criminology or its equivalent from a recognized institution.
  • Have served as a Commissioned Officer, Disciplined Forces of Kenya with a Discharge Certificate.
  • Have a certificate of Good Conduct, Firefighting Certificate, and First Aid among other short courses certificates.
  • Demonstrate outstanding administrative ability in controlling security guards
  • Be proficient in computer applications
  • Have working knowledge in use and analysis of CCTV data. 
  • Knowledge of data protection laws is an added advantage.
