Job summary
Location: Mukurweini & Kianyaga Reporting To: Project Manager / Site Manager Job Purpose To enforce Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) standards on construction sites in compliance with Kenyan regulations and Affordable Housing Program (AHP) requirements by managing risks, enforcing safety procedures, and maintaining audit-ready systems.

Job descriptions & requirements
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure compliance with DOSHS, NCA, OSHA 2007, and AHP safety standards
- Enforce PPE usage and safe work practices across all site activities
- Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses with corrective action tracking
- Lead safety inductions, toolbox talks, and staff training
- Maintain safety records, reports, and audit-ready documentation
- Implement emergency response plans and coordinate drills
- Oversee subcontractor safety compliance and performance
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Zero fatalities on site
- Reduced lost-time injuries (LTIs)
- 100% PPE compliance
- Timely resolution of safety issues
- High audit compliance (AHP, DOSHS, NCA)
Minimum Requirements
Education:
- Diploma/Degree in Occupational Health & Safety or related field
Certifications:
- Registered Safety Officer (DOSHS) – Mandatory
- Valid First Aid & Fire Safety Certification
- NEBOSH (Added advantage)
Experience:
- 3–5 years in construction site safety
- Experience in large-scale or AHP/government projects is an added advantage

- Strong knowledge of construction safety regulations
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Risk assessment and problem-solving ability
- Report writing and documentation skills
Additional Requirements
- Physically fit for site work
- High integrity and professionalism
- Basic computer skills (Excel, reporting tools, CPMS systems)
