Job summary

We are seeking a compassionate and organized Social Worker & Administrative Officer to support resident care, provide psychosocial support, coordinate stakeholders, and manage administrative tasks. The role requires strong social work expertise, organization, and the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively.

Job descriptions & requirements

Key Responsibilities:

1. Resident Care & Social Support

  • Supervise residents and their babies, ensuring their daily well-being, safety, and comfort
  • Provide social support, guidance, and basic counselling to residents
  • Conduct home and school visits where appropriate
  • Prepare monthly progress reports on residents
  • Carry out induction and orientation for new residents on house rules and routines

2. Stakeholder Engagement & Coordination

  • Facilitate relationships with schools, health facilities, children’s services, and other institutions
  • Represent the organization in meetings, forums, and events when required
  • Liaise with house staff and residents regarding medical, clinical, and other appointments
  • Ensure proper follow-up on all referrals and interventions

3. Program Support & Life Skills Development

  • Teach life skills to residents and support personal development initiatives
  • Develop simple lesson plans and organize learning materials
  • Support education and skills development programs

4. Administration & Documentation

  • Prepare letters, maintain records, and manage confidential case files
  • Ensure proper filing and documentation systems are maintained
  • Assist in preparing reports and updates for management and stakeholders
  • Maintain effective communication between residents, staff, and management

5. Office Administration & Executive Support

  • Provide administrative and personal assistant support to the CEO, including scheduling and correspondence
  • Organize meetings, internal functions, and events
  • Work with the administrative team to ensure smooth daily operations
  • Support supervision of subordinate staff to ensure efficiency

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Ensure high standards of hygiene and cleanliness within the facility
  • Support crisis response and resident welfare management
  • Attend training and capacity-building sessions as required
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies and procedures
  • Perform any other duties assigned by management

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Community Development, Public Administration, or a related field
  • Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in social work
  • Previous experience in a supervisory or administrative role within social services
  • Strong understanding of social work principles and ethics
  • Excellent written, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Proven leadership and problem-solving abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant digital tools
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse groups, especially teenage girls
  • Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
