STEEL FIXER

Job Purpose

The Steel Fixer will prepare, cut, bend, position, and secure reinforcement steel used in reinforced concrete structures according to construction drawings and specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret reinforcement drawings and specifications.
• Cut and bend reinforcement bars to required measurements.
• Position and secure reinforcement steel correctly.
• Tie reinforcement using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Ensure correct spacing, alignment, and cover of reinforcement.
• Assist with preparation of reinforcement cages and structural components.
• Inspect reinforcement before concrete placement.
• Work closely with masons, carpenters, engineers, and other site personnel.
• Maintain steel-fixing tools and equipment.
• Minimize material wastage.
• Follow construction quality and safety requirements.

Qualifications & Skills

• Relevant steel-fixing training or practical experience.
• Experience in reinforced-concrete construction is an advantage.
• Ability to interpret basic construction drawings.
• Good measurement and practical skills.
• Physically fit and comfortable working on construction sites.
• Strong commitment to safety and accuracy.

Level of Education: high school
