KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and execute procurement of medical, pharmaceutical, laboratory, and general supplies in line with approved budgets and procurement policies
- Source, evaluate, and manage suppliers to ensure quality, timely delivery, and value for money
- Prepare and process purchase requisitions, purchase orders, and contracts
- Receive, inspect, and verify goods and services against specifications and delivery notes
- Ensure proper storage, handling, and issuance of supplies in accordance with safety and quality standards
- Maintain accurate inventory records, stock cards, and electronic inventory systems
- Monitor stock levels, expiry dates, and consumption trends to prevent stock-outs or overstocking
- Manage controlled items and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
- Coordinate distribution of supplies to wards, pharmacy, laboratory, and other departments
- Conduct regular stock counts, reconciliations, and inventory audits
- Prepare supply chain reports including consumption, variances, and supplier performance
- Support disposal of expired, damaged, or obsolete items in line with policy
- Collaborate with clinical and non-clinical departments to forecast supply needs
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards, transparency, and confidentiality
- Participate in continuous improvement, audits, and accreditation activities
- Any other duty as may be assigned
KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:
- Knowledge of healthcare procurement, inventory management, and regulatory compliance
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and organizational skills
- Proficiency in inventory management systems and MS Office
- High level of integrity, accountability, and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and within a multidisciplinary team
KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
- Diploma or Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, or a related field
- Registered with a relevant professional body (where applicable)
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in supply chain or procurement, preferably in a healthcare setting
