Background

Kimunye Tea Factory Co. Ltd is seeking to recruit suitably qualified persons to fill the following vacant positions.

TEA EXTENSION SERVICES ASSISTANT (TESA)-I POST

Reporting to the Field services Coordinator, - the successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Ensuring Tea Extension services are rendered throughout the catchment area as allocated
• Conducting demonstrations on crop maintenance at the farms assigned
• Training farmers on the applications of chemicals and fertilizer at their individual farms
• Assist in establishing and management of tea and tree nurseries effectively as per laid down quality standards
• Training farmers on plucking and handling of quality tea from the farm to factory
• Assisting farmers in planting quality tea clones and carrying out tea plant census
• Carrying out verification of new growers and transfer cases and having correct co-ordinates captured
• Liaising with other authorities in solving problems concerning tea growing
• Participating in communicating the company’s policies to farmers as and when required.
• Assist in preparing and training for the purpose of certifications
• Observing and complying with the safety and regulation measures
• Performing any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

• Minimum qualification KCSE ‘C’ Plain
• Diploma in agriculture extension services from recognized institution
• Atleast three (3) years working experience in tea extension and other agronomic practices
• Valid driving licence(class A) a higher class will be an added advantage
• Computer literate
• Valid police certificate of good conduct
• Age between 25 to 35 years
