Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Truck & Trailer Mechanic to inspect, diagnose, service, and repair articulated trucks and trailers. The role involves maintaining vehicles in good working condition to ensure safety, reliability, and minimal downtime.
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic faults on trucks and trailers
- Carry out routine servicing, maintenance, and inspections
- Repair engines, gearboxes, brakes, suspension, axles, and air systems
- Inspect trailers, coupling systems, and chassis for faults or wear
- Identify faults using diagnostic tools and manual checks
- Replace or repair worn and damaged parts
- Ensure all repairs meet safety and road worthiness standards
- Keep basic maintenance and repair records
- Respond to breakdowns when required
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in the workshop
Requirements / Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Truck Mechanic / Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Experience working on articulated trucks and trailers
- Good knowledge of diesel engines and air brake systems
- Ability to diagnose faults accurately and work with minimal supervision
- Mechanical training, trade test, or technical certification is an added advantage
- Physically fit and able to work in a workshop environment

- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
- Good teamwork and communication skills
