Background

GALVMed is a non-profit organisation that aims to improve the health and productivity of livestock in developing countries by making vaccines more accessible and affordable. We work with partners to develop, register, and deliver high-quality veterinary vaccines.

Responsibilities

The Veterinary Technical Officer will be responsible for:

  • Providing technical support to GALVMed’s vaccine development and delivery projects.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the performance of vaccines in the field.
  • Contributing to the development of training materials and capacity building initiatives.
  • Liaising with partners, including research institutions, vaccine manufacturers, and government agencies.
  • Assisting in the preparation of reports and scientific publications.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A degree in Veterinary Medicine or a related field.
  • Proven experience in veterinary research, vaccine development, or animal health programs.
  • Strong understanding of livestock diseases and vaccination strategies in developing countries.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of other relevant languages is an asset.

Experience

A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.
