Job Purpose

The Visual Merchandiser will support in designing and implementing attractive, functional, and brand-aligned showroom displays that inspire customers and enhance the shopping experience. This will offer hands-on experience in retail design, space planning, styling, and customer engagement within a dynamic furniture and home décor retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Showroom & Display Support

    • Assist in conceptualizing, designing, and setting up creative in-store and window displays that highlight furniture collections and décor themes.
    • Support in the preparation of layouts, sketches, and mood boards for internal review and client presentations.
    • Ensure that all displayed products are neatly arranged, properly tagged, and visually appealing, in line with company brand standards.
    • Monitor and maintain displays daily, ensuring cleanliness, product completeness, and aesthetic consistency.
    • Suggest new ideas and improvements to keep the showroom fresh, engaging, and trend-relevant.
    • Assist in seasonal and promotional setups, including sale campaigns, holiday décor, and product launches.

2. Client Support

    • Accompany the Visual Merchandiser to client consultations to understand their style preferences, space layouts, and functional needs.
    • Assist in developing tailored design concepts and product combinations that match client requirements.
    • Participate in site visits, measurements, and space assessments under supervision to gain practical design application experience.
    • Help prepare presentation boards, samples, or mockups for client proposals.

3. Collaboration & Operations

    • Work closely with sales, procurement, and technical teams to coordinate display changes, installations, and product movements.
    • Support in maintaining accurate visual inventory records, including product placements, showroom changes, and prop usage.
    • Contribute creative ideas for seasonal themes, color stories, and lifestyle settings that enhance customer experience.
    • Assist in organizing photoshoots of showroom setups for social media or marketing use.
    • Ensure all visual activities comply with safety and brand standards.

Requirements

    • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Degree in Interior Design, Visual Merchandising, Fine Arts, Architecture, or a related creative field.
    • Passionate about furniture, home décor, design aesthetics, and visual storytelling.
    • Basic working knowledge of design software such as SketchUp, AutoCAD, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, or Canva.
    • Strong creativity, spatial awareness, and attention to detail.
    • Good interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a team environment.
    • Proactive, eager to learn, and willing to handle both creative and hands-on tasks.
    • Flexibility to work on weekends or extended hours during showroom setups or special events.
