Job Summary

The Waste Sorter is responsible for sorting and segregating recyclable and non-recyclable waste materials to support efficient recycling and waste management operations. The role ensures materials are properly classified while maintaining cleanliness, safety, and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Sort recyclable and non-recyclable waste materials.
  • Separate waste according to established recycling categories.
  • Remove contaminated or hazardous materials where appropriate.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization within the sorting area.
  • Follow workplace health and safety procedures.
  • Identify reusable and recyclable materials accurately.
  • Report equipment faults or unsafe working conditions.
  • Assist with inventory and storage of sorted materials.
  • Support overall waste management operations.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • KCSE Certificate or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in waste management or recycling operations is an added advantage.
  • Physically fit and able to perform manual tasks.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Working Conditions

  • Full-time position.
  • Requires prolonged standing and manual handling of waste materials.
