Job Summary

The Welder is responsible for joining metal parts using various welding techniques to fabricate, repair, or assemble structures and equipment. The role requires technical skill, precision, and strict adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications.
• Weld components using MIG, TIG, Stick, or Flux-Cored Arc welding methods.
• Measure, cut, and align metal parts using tools such as grinders, saws, and clamps.
• Inspect welded surfaces for defects and ensure structural soundness.
• Perform repairs and maintenance on metal structures and equipment.
• Operate and maintain welding equipment and tools safely.
• Follow safety protocols, including wearing PPE and maintaining a clean work area.
• Collaborate with fabricators, engineers, and other team members.
• Document work completed and report any issues to supervisors.
• Maintain accurate records of materials used and time spent.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; welding certification from a technical school preferred.
• Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing, construction, or fabrication environment.
• Certification in welding (AWS, ASME, or equivalent) is a plus.
• Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
• Knowledge of different metals (steel, aluminum, stainless steel) and welding techniques.
• Strong manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and physical stamina.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
