About the Role
Zetech University is a premier institution of higher learning committed to providing quality education and fostering innovation. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Laboratory Technician to join our academic team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining and operating laboratory equipment, assisting students and faculty with experiments, and ensuring a safe and efficient laboratory environment.
Responsibilities
The Laboratory Technician will be expected to perform the following duties:
- Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for practical sessions.
- Assist students and faculty during experiments and practical work.
- Maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring it is in good working order and calibrated.
- Ensure adherence to safety protocols and procedures within the laboratory.
- Manage inventory of laboratory supplies and reagents, and place orders as needed.
- Clean and maintain the laboratory space.
- Provide technical support to users of the laboratory.
Qualification and experience
- Proficient in relevant computer applications
- Be a member of Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB) and have practising license.
- At least three (3) years of relevant experience in a similar role,
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology or related qualifications from a recognised/accredited University in the relevant field.
Experience
A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience is required.

This is a full-time position based at our main campus in Nairobi.

- Proficiency in operating and maintaining various laboratory equipment.
- Strong understanding of laboratory safety procedures and regulations.
- Excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Diploma or Higher National Diploma (HND) in Medical Laboratory Technology or a related field.
- Valid practicing license from the Kenya Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB).
