Duties and Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities at this level will entails:

• Promote fish farming at the ward level
• providing fisheries extension services
• collecting fisheries statistical data
• maintaining fishfarms and hatcheries
• participating in mornitoring, control and surveillance (MCS) of fisheries resources and elementary water examination for signs of pollution
• assisting in the production and selection of fish seed and stocking feeding and harvesting of fish ponds
• Compile fisheries monthly reports
• Assist in implementation of directorate’s projects and programmes.

Requirement for Appointment

• A diploma in Fisheries or related field from a recognized institution
• A certificate of computer application from a recognized institution
• Must satisfy chapter six of the constitution of Kenya.
• One year experience in fisheries activities. The experience may have been gained through attachment to established fish farm or public/research institution
• Be a Kenyan Citizen
