For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have
- Cumulative service period of six (6) years, and currently serving at the grade of Senior Economist/Statistician, CSG 8;
- A Bachelors Degree in any of the following disciplines: Economics, Statistics, Economics and Mathematics, Economics and Finance, Economics and Statistics or any equivalent qualification from a university recognized in Kenya; and
- Demonstrated professional competence and managerial capability as reflected in work performance and results.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Making follow-up and reporting on the implementation of Medium Term Plans;
- Preparing policy briefs, reviews and reports on the status of economy;
- Facilitating State and Non-State Actors to develop donor funding proposals;
- Presenting statistical data in form of survey reports and bulletins;
- Providing input in the development of guidelines for the preparation of County Integrated Development Plans and Ministerial Strategic Plans;
- Monitoring, evaluating and reporting on the implementation of national and sector specific programmes, projects and activities;
- Overseeing the planning, monitoring, evaluation and reporting of the national government functions;
- Tracking Vision 2030 flagship projects;
- Developing, updating and maintaining a database to generate key information such as national census, key surveys and production of the national annual progress reports;
- Overseeing capacity building support to Government agents, Civil Society Organizations and the private sector on planning and development matters; and
- Providing technical support in the maintenance of development planning standards in the counties; and disseminating national policies and strategies.
