Position Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Accountant to join our Finance and Accounting team. The successful candidate will play a critical role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing actionable financial planning and decision-making insights. This role provides an excellent opportunity to contribute directly to Taalobi’s growth in the SaaS/Fintech sector by safeguarding financial integrity, optimizing resources, and strengthening the integrity of our financial systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, or related tools).
  • Record, reconcile, and manage day-to-day financial transactions, including accounts payable, receivable, general ledger, and payroll entries.
  • Prepare and review financial reports such as Profit & Loss, Balance Sheets, and Cash Flow Statements.
  • Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to track performance and guide decision making.

Compliance & Audit

  • Ensure timely filing and remittance of statutory taxes and deductions (VAT, WHT, CIT, PAYE, NHIF, NSSF, NITA).
  • Collaborate with external auditors and consultants during quarterly and annual audits.

Cash Flow & Vendor Management

  • Reconcile bank accounts, credit card statements, and other cash processes monthly. Process invoices, staff claims & reimbursements while ensuring timely vendor payments.
  • Manage supplier relationships while monitoring budgets and funding obligations.

Strategic Support

  • Provide financial analysis and recommendations to support decision-making.
  • Support cross-functional teams with financial insights, planning, and risk assessments.
  • Collaborate with the CFO in strategic financial planning and long-term financial reporting.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA/ACCA certification (completed or in progress) is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 years of proven experience as an Accountant, preferably in a SaaS/Fintech or related industry.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar) and Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills with attention to detail.
  • Good knowledge of tax laws, compliance, and financial reporting standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • High level of integrity, accountability, and ability to maintain confidentiality of financial records.
