Job Summary:
The AI and Emerging Technology Officer will play a crucial role in exploring, evaluating, and implementing artificial intelligence (AI) and other emerging technologies to enhance the IRC's humanitarian programs and operational efficiency. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and a deep understanding of the humanitarian sector.
Responsibilities:
- Research and identify relevant AI and emerging technologies that can address challenges and opportunities within the humanitarian sector.
- Assess the feasibility, scalability, and ethical implications of adopting new technologies.
- Develop and pilot proof-of-concept projects for promising technologies.
- Collaborate with program teams, IT departments, and external partners to integrate technologies into existing workflows.
- Provide technical guidance and training on AI and emerging technologies to staff.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements and trends in AI and emerging technologies.
- Contribute to the development of IRC's digital transformation strategy.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
- Proven experience in AI, machine learning, data analytics, or other emerging technologies.
- Familiarity with the humanitarian sector is a plus.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

- Minimum of 3 years of relevant professional experience.
- Research and identify relevant AI and emerging technologies that can address challenges and opportunities within the humanitarian sector.
- Assess the feasibility, scalability, and ethical implications of adopting new technologies.
- Develop and pilot proof-of-concept projects for promising technologies.
- Collaborate with program teams, IT departments, and external partners to integrate technologies into existing workflows.
