Galana Energies Limited is a leading oil marketing company in Kenya, engaged in the import, distribution and marketing of high-quality petroleum products including Fuels, LPG and Lubricants. We also operate a nationwide network of retail service stations under the Galana Energies brand.
To further enrich our growing team at Galana Energies Ltd, we are currently seeking to recruit a talented, visionary and highly skilled professional for the following position of Assistant Accountant.
About The Role
The Assistant Accountant will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to our financial operations to ensure overall efficiency and compliance with internal controls and regulations.
Key duties will include:
- Record day-to-day financial transactions in the accounting system.
- Perform monthly bank, supplier and customer account reconciliations.
- Monitor outstanding receivables, follow up on collections and process supplier payments in a timely and accurate manner.
- Prepare and submit statutory returns such as VAT, Withholding Tax.
- Assist in reconciling inventory and support in investigating variances.
- Assist in the preparation of monthly management accounts and other internal reports.
- Provide documentation and assist auditors during internal and external audits.
- Ensure adherence to financial policies, procedures and internal controls across the company.
Terms
Requirements:
- A bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, Statistics or other related fields.
- CPA (K) or ACCA certification.
- At least 2 years' experience in Finance / Accounting, preferably in Oil and Gas.
- Through knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
- Proficiency in report writing.
- Proficiency in MS Excel/Accounting software.
- Strong attention to detail.
