Background

The Access to Finance Grants Specialist will be responsible for managing and overseeing the implementation of the Access to Finance component of the project. This includes identifying potential grant beneficiaries, assessing their financial needs, developing grant proposals, and monitoring the disbursement and utilization of funds. The specialist will also be responsible for building the capacity of beneficiaries in financial management and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategies for increasing access to finance for target beneficiaries.
- Identify and assess potential grant beneficiaries based on project criteria.
- Develop grant proposals and manage the grant application process.
- Oversee the disbursement and utilization of grant funds.
- Monitor the progress and impact of grant-funded activities.
- Provide technical assistance and capacity building to beneficiaries in financial management, business planning, and reporting.
- Prepare regular progress reports for UNDP and other stakeholders.
- Maintain relationships with financial institutions, government agencies, and other relevant partners.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, or a related field.
- At least 5 years of relevant professional experience in financial management, grant management, or access to finance initiatives.
- Proven experience in developing and managing grant programs.
- Strong understanding of financial principles and practices.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Experience working with international organizations or NGOs is an asset.
- Fluency in English and Chichewa is required.
