Role Purpose:

Responsible for day to day management of General Ledger, Fixed Assets and Insurance operations ensuring proper maintenance of general ledgers and sound financial records, completeness of ledger account reconciliations, in accordance with accounting standards. This position will control and enforce accounting policies, processes and procedures, generate monthly financial statements and perform a detailed review of all reconciliations and schedules used for purposes of Audit of the Financial statements of the company.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are appropriate for the users and in accordance with applicable legislation, regulations and IAS and IFRS.
  • Review the General Ledger and Fixed Assets register to ensure that transactions are captured accurately and that the records are adequate and appropriate for purposes of providing relevant and reliable management information on a timely basis.
  • Manage monthly closing procedures, including reconciliations and analysis of related accounts. Thorough review of balance sheet / control accounts reconciliations to ensure the balances reported in the financial statements are complete and accurate.
  • Provide support and coordinate with auditors, both internal and external.
  • Responsible for Monitoring and Managing Fixed Assets, Intangible Assets and Capital Work in Progress and ensure compliance with relevant financial reporting framework.
  • Calculate monthly fixed depreciation charge in compliance with the company’s fixed assets policy
  • Ensure that disposal of Fixed assets is done in accordance with the company policies.
  • Manage the Insurance function to ensure all losses with company insurable interest are adequately reimbursed.

Academic background & Professional Knowledge:

Here Are The Skills We Are Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance
  • Certified Accountant – CPA(K) or ACCA
  • Member of ICPAK
  • 5 - 8 years’ experience, of which 3 years at managerial level in the Finance function of a reputable company
  • Detailed knowledge of IAS / IFRS and their application in the Telecommunications space
  • Financial planning and reporting
  • Financial systems knowledge, including advanced knowledge of MS Excel and accounting applications
  • Strong numeracy and analytical skills.
  • Great attention to detail.
  • Excellent people manager with good influencing skills.
