Job Summary

The role is responsible for supporting the organization’s financial management and accountability by overseeing budgeting, financial reporting, and project accounting functions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Participate in preparation of the Annual Budget of the Company
  • Monitor and control budgets and institute system budgetary controls.
  • Participate in preparation of quarterly, mid-year and annual accounts.
  • Responsible for closure and capitalization of projects under Central Office.
  • Liaise with projects section to ensure accuracy of disbursed amounts to suppliers/contractors.
  • Ensure timely reconciliations of loan accounts to reflect accurate credit position.
  • Liaise with internal and external auditors on loan audit queries and ensure timely responses.
  • Ensure timely and accurate processing of payments to suppliers of goods and services.
  • Ensure prompt updating and validation of financial records in the region.
  • Maintain internal controls and effective accounting systems and policies for accurate financial transactions.
  • Conduct monthly reconciliation of Vendor GL Accounts against supplier statements.
  • Verify payments made by cheques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or other equivalent qualifications from a recognized Institution.
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) (K) or equivalent qualification by a recognized body.
  • Member, Institute of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK) in good standing
  • Five (5) years’ relevant work experience in Finance or related function
  • Proficiency in computerized financial systems and Data Analysis
  • Demonstrated results in work performance
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Supervisory and team building skills
  • A high degree of initiative & analytical thinking
  • Attention to detail and self-driven
  • Negotiation skills; planning & reporting skills
  • Strong and demonstrable ethical and integrity credentials
