Background
All Saints’ Cathedral is seeking a detail-oriented, reliable, and proactive Accountant to join the Finance Department. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial management, timely reporting, and strict adherence to internal controls and statutory requirements. This role is key in supporting the Cathedral’s financial integrity and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Review postings in P&L and balance sheet for accuracy and address discrepancies
- Track debtors and liaise with teams for collections
- Coordinate counting, recording, and banking of offertory as per procedures
- Review petty cash vouchers, reports, and bank reconciliations
- Enforce internal controls through physical counts and asset verification
- Provide input for Finance policy reviews
- Track payment of payables and review payment vouchers/online payments
- Prepare cash flow reports and monitor bank cash positions
- Prepare payroll, pay slips, and file VAT, withholding, and corporate tax returns
- Liaise with external auditors for interim and final audits
- Prepare monthly departmental and management reports
- Monitor budget approvals and conduct variance tracking
- Coordinate investment rollovers and Investment Committee meetings
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Finance Manager
Skills & Knowledge
- Analytical with strong attention to detail
- Financial reporting and planning skills
- Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Problem-solving ability and team player
- High level of integrity
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in a business-related field
- CPA/ACCA finalist
- Member of a professional accounting body in good standing
- At least 5 years’ experience as an Accountant
