Oversee the preparation and maintenance of accurate general ledger accounts.
Prepare timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
Assist with the preparation of financial statements in compliance with IFRS.
Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation and explanations.

Tax & Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with all statutory obligations including PAYE, VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns in a timely manner.
  • Keep abreast of changes in local tax laws and advise management accordingly.
  • Liaise with KRA and other regulatory bodies as required.

Budgeting & Forecasting

Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts.
Analyze variances between actuals and budgets and provide insightful commentary.

Accounts Payable & Receivable

  • Supervise accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections.
  • Review reconciliations of vendor and customer accounts.
  • Approve and process journal entries and account adjustments.

ERP & Financial Systems Management

  • Ensure proper use and optimization of accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, Sage).
  • Support systems upgrades and improvements to enhance financial reporting efficiency.

Team Supervision & Collaboration

  • Provide mentorship and supervision to junior accounting staff.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support overall business objectives

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) qualification is mandatory
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience in a mid to large-sized organization
  • Strong working knowledge of Kenyan tax laws, IFRS, and financial regulations
  • Proficient in accounting and ERP systems such as SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, or Sage
  • Advanced Excel and financial analysis skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
