INTRODUCTION/BACKGROUND

Limlak Sacco is looking for a qualified accountant to be responsible for the Sacco’s finance department.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Responsible for back-office transactions posting and periodic bank and other accounts reconciliations in a timely manner
• Preparation of budgets and cash flow projections
• Responsible for creation of corporate plans and strategies for short and long-term financial benefit of the Sacco
• Conducting detailed analysis, insights and predictions and give insights on investments
• Responsible for extraction of trail balance, preparation of financial reports, management accounts, and other reports
• Advising the board and management on all financial matters
• Liaison with both internal and external auditors on audit controls and act on management letters and closure of all audit queries
• Filling of statutory returns on time (NSSF, Pension, NSSF, PAYE, KRA and SASRA etc).
• Ensuring the society’s assets and liabilities are recorded accurately and safeguarded
• Responsible for management of staff payroll in an effective and efficient manner
• Responsible for maintaining asset register and safeguarding Sacco assets

TECHNICAL/SPECIALIST SKILL (If any) AND QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENT:

• Holder of a Bachelor of Commerce degree or its equivalent from a recognized University;
• Is a CPA (K) and member in good standing with ICPAK;
• Prior experience and exposure in the Sacco sector desired;
• Computer proficiency for MS Office Suite and specialized accounting software.

MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:

A minimum of 3 years’ experience (preferably in the DT Sacco subsector)
