Job Summary

We are seeking a highly competent and detail-oriented Accountant to join our property management company based in Nairobi. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in financial accounting, tax compliance, audits, reconciliations and overall financial management within a corporate or property-related environment.The successful candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting, compliance with statutory requirement and effective management of the company's financial records and controls.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain the general ledger and ensure all financial transactions are correctly recorded and posted.
  • Prepare management accounts and financial reports to support business decision-making.
  • Ensure compliance with all Kenyan tax regulations, including VAT, PAYE, Corporate Tax, and Withholding Tax.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns accurately and within the required timelines.
  • Liaise with the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) on tax matters, audits, and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate internal and external audits and provide all necessary documentation and support.
  • Implement and maintain effective internal financial controls and procedures.
  • Address audit findings and ensure timely resolution of any issues raised.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
  • CPA (K) or equivalent professional qualification is mandatory.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience in accounting, preferably in a property or real estate company.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance.
  • Proven experience in audits, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, ERP systems etc).
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and numerical skills.
  • High level of integrity, accuracy and attention to detail.
