Our client, a growing company in the IT sector based in Nairobi CBD, is seeking to recruit a competent and experienced Accountant to oversee day-to-day financial operations and ensure compliance with statutory and financial reporting requirements.

The ideal candidate should be detail-oriented, and experienced in managing accounting functions within a structured business environment, preferably in the IT or technology industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable processes.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Handle bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
  • Ensure timely statutory deductions and remittance (PAYE, NSSF, SHIF, VAT, etc.).
  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.
  • Support external audits and ensure compliance with accounting standards.
  • Maintain proper documentation and filing of financial records.
  • Monitor company expenses and advise management on cost control measures.
  • Utilize accounting software to manage financial transactions.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA (Part II or Finalist) is required; CPA-K is an added advantage.
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years’ experience in accounting, preferably within an IT or technology company.
  • Strong knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory compliance.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and MS Excel.
  • High level of integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism.
  • Strong analytical and financial reporting skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
