Description

Our client in Mombasa Town is seeking a qualified and proactive Accountant to join their team.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations, and supporting business growth through sound financial management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and ledgers.
  • Record all financial transactions, including purchases, sales, receipts, and payments.
  • Reconcile bank statements and ensure proper transaction posting.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning.
  • Generate financial reports and analysis for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with local tax laws and statutory requirements.
  • Prepare and submit tax returns and other statutory filings.
  • Support internal and external audits with accurate documentation.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable functions.
  • Monitor cash flow and oversee petty cash management.
  • Support payroll processing and staff reimbursements.
  • Analyze financial data for trends, risks, and opportunities.
  • Contribute to internal control processes and safeguard company assets.
  • Assist with accounting system improvements and automation initiatives.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA certification is an added advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar accounting role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Odoo, Excel, Sage, QuickBooks, or SAP).
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
