Job Description

We are seeking a mature, detail-oriented, and reliable Accountant with at least 3 years of experience to join our team in the construction sector. The ideal candidate should be committed to long-term growth within the company and capable of handling financial operations with integrity and professionalism.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records, reports, and statements
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable
  • Handle bank reconciliations and monitor cash flow
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with tax regulations, statutory deductions, and filings (VAT, PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, etc.)
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes
  • Monitor project costs and provide cost control insights (construction-specific)
  • Assist with audits and liaise with external auditors
  • Maintain proper documentation of financial transactions
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and financial procedures

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in accounting (construction industry experience is an added advantage)
  • CPA (K) qualification or progress towards completion is preferred
  • Strong understanding of Kenyan tax laws and financial regulations
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar)
  • High level of integrity, maturity, and professionalism
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills
