Position: Accountant

Reports To: Chief Accountant

Key Responsibilities.

  • Prepare and maintain accurate financial records and reports in line with company policies and statutory requirements
  • Handle accounts payable including supplier reconciliations, invoicing, and timely follow-ups
  • Manage and supervise other junior accountants in the department.
  • Manage payroll processing and ensure statutory deductions (PAYE, NSSF, NHIF, VAT) are accurately computed and remitted.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations, monitor cash flow, and flag any variances for corrective action.
  • Work closely with the stores department to ensure accurate recording of raw material receipts, issues, and balances
  • Monitor stock movement and ensure proper documentation for all inventory transactions
  • Support periodic stock counts (daily/weekly/monthly) and reconcile physical stock with system records
  • Investigate and report stock variances, wastage, and discrepancies
  • Support proper inventory valuation in line with approved costing methods.
  • Track material usage against production output and highlight inefficiencies or abnormal consumption
  • Ensure strong internal controls over raw material handling and reporting
  • Ensure audit readiness at all times through proper documentation and reconciliations

Qualifications and Experience

  • CPA K qualification.
  • Degree/diploma in an accounting field.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience in accounting. Experience in manufacturing is an added advantage.
