Job Summary

The Accountant is responsible for preparing financial records, maintaining ledgers, reconciling accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and tax regulations. He/she supports budgeting, reporting, and financial analysis to aid management decisions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Record daily financial transactions in accounting software.
  • Maintain general ledger, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Reconcile bank statements, petty cash, and inter-company accounts.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Assist in budget preparation and variance analysis.
  • Process payroll and statutory deductions (tax, pension, insurance).
  • Prepare and file tax returns (VAT, income tax, withholding tax, etc.).
  • Manage invoicing, payments, and collections.
  • Support internal and external audits.
  • Ensure compliance with local financial regulations and accounting standards (IFRS/GAAP).
  • Maintain accurate filing of financial documents.
  • Provide financial reports and insights to management.
  • Monitor expenditures and recommend cost-control measures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA, or equivalent) preferred.
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, Tally, etc.) and Excel.

  • Knowledge of tax laws and financial regulations.
  • Integrity and confidentiality.
  • Time management and ability to meet deadlines.
